PETER EVERETT
Peter graduated from Sydney University Law School as a Bachelor of Laws in 1965 and was admitted to practise in that year.
He became a junior partner of Dibbs Crowther in the following year and progressed to Senior Partner, retiring as Chairman of Partners in 2006 to become a consultant to the current firm, Dibbs Barker.
In the interim his firm represented a number of major local and foreign banks in general transactional as well as dispute matters, appealed variously to the High Court and, on occasion, to the Privy Council.
During his career he has represented clients in U.K., Switzerland, France, Denmark, Greece, U.S.A., Singapore, Hong Kong and the South Pacific in Commercial, Banking and Finance, Corporate and Property matters and was central to a rather well known Taxation matter.
He has been involved in numerous mediated resolutions, a great number of settlement negotiations and has significant expertise in a range of dispute resolution processes. He is also regarded as an expert in the banking and financial sector where he has had particular expertise in large scale complex transactions.
Peter authored the Australian "Banking" section for Halsbury (4th. ed.) has delivered a number of papers at international and local conferences and has written various articles (predominantly in the Banking and Finance area ).
